Noel’s Giving is a 501(c)(3) organization based in Douglas, Wyoming, whose vision is to offer food and gifts for those in need during Christmas, scholarships for children wishing to receive a higher education, and helping our communities as needed.
Noel’s Christmas Giving was founded in December 2000.
We started out taking names of families; individuals or senior citizens in need during the holiday season to make sure each had a basket of food (Christmas Dinner) a ham, turkey or hamburger and all the trimmings. A couple years later we added the gifts for children. We decided it was a way to spread the spirit of the season, and to make sure people in our communities didn’t have to go without.
It’s also incredibly rewarding to see children’s faces full of awe as they give Santa a giant hug and whisper secrets in his ear. It’s a unique moment when a person collects a food basket and leaves with tears of gratitude in their eyes. There is a tremendous amount of satisfaction knowing people will have holiday fixings, along with their choice of Christmas ham or turkey, on the table.
We couldn’t do this without donations and volunteers. Each year, people turn out in force the week of the event to sort food, wrap presents and help check Santa’s list. Many people in our communities take tags from giving trees and purchase presents or make miscellaneous donations. We are so grateful for the community’s support. Noel’s Giving wishes to extend a HUGE Thank You to the people in the communities that make this program work.
